Andrew Madsen – Mite Major / Minor:

Andrew Madsen is a USA Hockey Level 1 certified coach who has worked with the Flames mite program, recreational mite program and ADM. His focus is to ensure our young athletes a solid hockey foundation required for higher levels of play. His background includes a decade of playing experience, a Masters degree in instructional systems focused on video game type training simulations for training purposes, and a USMC sergeant. We are excited to have him working with our mites this upcoming season as he will build the necessary fundamentals both on and off the ice for years to come.


Matt Yeats – Squirt A

Native of Alberta, Canada. Matt Yeats played minor hockey for his hometown A team. He was drafted by the Lethbridge Hurricanes of the WHL. He played a season of AAA in Lethbridge before going to the Olds Grizzlys of the AJHL. He went on to play for the University of Maine Black Bears (NCAA D1) where he won a National Championship in 1999. After college, he was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings of the NHL where he went on to play 7 years in North America and Europe. His son currently plays on our Mite major team.


Larry Duhaime – Squirt AA

Born in Barre, Vermont. Larry Duaime began coaching in High School as an assistant, skating, and goaltending coach. He continued coaching in community hockey through college. He played for the Norwich University Cadets (NCAA D3) where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business management & economics. After college, he spent 2 years coaching youth hockey in Nashville, TN. He joined the Gulf Coast Flames as an assistant coach for 4 years before becoming a head coach for the last 4 years. In the last 3 seasons as a head coach, he led his teams to 16 tournament wins. He won 7 recreational league championships over four years and works for the Tampa Bay Lightning’s learn to play and rookie league. His youngest son, Jake Duhaime, currently plays for the Tampa Bay Junior in Wesley Chapel, FL. He is a USA figure skating IOC certified coach, PSA member (Professional Skaters Association), and a USA hockey certified level 4 coach. 


Jason DiDonna – Peewee A

Originally from NJ, Jason has been involved in USA hockey for the last quarter century. He is a USA hockey Level 4 certified coach for 14 years who has

coached all levels from Mite to U18AA. He has taken multiple teams to State

playoffs and an appearance in Nationals as well as multiple tournament wins. He is also a USA Hockey level 3 official for the last 22 years as well as a retired

member of NIHOA NY/NJ Metro group which has provided me the opportunity to

work all levels of travel hockey up to Juniors and High school which during this

He has worked State playoffs and High School Finals.


Charlie Lafoe – Peewee AA

Charlie was born and raised in Northern New England. He played youth and minor hockey in the Canadian province of Quebec. 

Charlie and his wife, Shelley, moved to Florida in the early 90’s.  

Throughout the years, Charlie remained involved with youth and junior hockey both in the United States and Canada. 

Charlie is a level 4 usa hockey certified coach and is currently working to achieve his level 5.


Peter Sibner – Bantam A

Peter played junior Division 1 and senior Division 3 hockey in his native Sweden. As the president of, he’s been closely involved with professional hockey for the past 10 years. Peter has covered the NHL and international tournaments for outlets such as, Pro Hockey Magazine and still regularly acts as a studio contributor/commentator for Viaplay Hockey in Sweden. He started coaching youth hockey in the Stockholm area in 2014, and moved on to coach Peewee Rec, Middle School and the U12 Rec Selects team Ice Kings here in Ellenton in 2019. He is recently USA Hockey Stage 3 certified and his son Milton will play on the Flames Bantam A team in 2021/22.


Mike Gillum – Bantam A

Born in Keene, NH, Mike Gillum played minor hockey for his hometown team bringing home multiple state championships through high school. After NH Junior Hockey, Mike went on to play 4 years at Quinnipiac University where he was captain of the team his Senior season. His coaching career started while he was at Quinnipiac coaching youth hockey camps every Summer. He has been coaching in the Flames organization since 2013. His son currently plays for the U14A team.


Gary Parkhurst – Bantam AA

A native of Philadelphia, Coach Gary moved to the Tampa Area in 2006 after serving in the US Army Special Forces.  He has been involved in hockey for

over 33 years as both a player and a coach.  He played ice hockey in both

high school and college and after graduating college, Coach Gary worked for the

Pittsburgh Penguins for two seasons.  He has extensive competitive coaching

experience having coached all ages and levels to include high school,

travel, recreational and learn to skate programs.  Currently certified as a Level 4 USA Hockey Coach, Gary currently coaches the 2007 Bantam AA Gulf Coast Flames.


Mike Bridges – U16A

Originally from the Detroit Metro area of Michigan. Mike Bridges is a graduate of Northern Michigan University. He spent time coaching Mite and Midget hockey at the Southfield Indians in Michigan before moving to the Sarasota / Lakewood Ranch area. He has previously coached for the Ellenton Eels and Brandon Jr. Bulls before joining the Flames over 10 seasons ago. He has coached U12, U14, U16, and U18 at the Flames over his time here. He was the head coach of the West Manatee High School team in the 2017-2018 campaign. He is a USA Hockey Level 5 Coach and attended not one, but two USA Hockey Level 5 coaching classes. He is a USA Hockey certified Bronze Level Goaltending coach. He has been a part of many players that have reached the Prep School, Juniors, Collegiate, and professional level. 


Michael Bridges – U16A

Hometown goalie, Michael Bridges, played goalie for the Ellenton Eels, Brandon Jr. Bulls, and Gulf Coast Flames before attending Gilmour Academy in Cleveland, Ohio.He was awarded team MVP and Hobey Baker Character Award his Senior year. He was the Assistant Coach for KOHA K-Wings (an ADM Model Club) at the U12AA level for 2 seasons while attending Western Michigan University. He was the ECHL Kalamazoo Wings Video Coach in the 2018-2019 season and the Utah Outliers Video Coach as well. He is a USA Hockey Level 4 Coach and a Bronze level Goaltending certified Coach. He also is the Goalie Development Leader for USA Hockey for the Central Region of Florida.


Justin Koepke – U16

Justin Koepke began Coaching for the Tampa Elite Hockey Club located in Brandon, FL. There he served as the Assistant Coach to the U16A and U16AA from 2013 – 2015. After the completion of the 2014-2015 season, Tampa Elite merged with the Tampa Scorpions where he served as a Head Coach and Assistant for multiple teams from 2015 – 2017. In 2017 he rejoined the Brandon Bulls for 2 seasons before joining the Gulf Coast Flames in the 2019 season. He has served as an Assistant and Head Coach of the U16 teams in his time with the Flames. He was a part of the coaching staff of the 2021 State Championship team and was recently named Director of Hockey and Head of Skills and Development.


Chris Crombie – U18AA

Originally from Ontario, Canada. Chris Crombie played minor hockey for the Hamilton AAA Huskies before being drafted to the OHL by the London Knights. He spent 3 years playing for the Knight where he recorded 100 points in his 3rd season. He was named 2nd team All Star for the 1990-1991 season where he went on to be drafted by the Boston Bruins of the NHL. He went on to play 15 years professionally in North America and Europe. In his final season as a player, he was asked to become the Head Coach of the Pee Dee Cyclones before retiring to Tampa, FL where he stays actively involved in the youth hockey community. He was the Head Coach of the State Championship team out of Brandon in 2018. His son, Cole Crombie, currently plays on the U18AA team.
